Glacier National Park is only 30 minutes away from Whitefish. This is a must-visit area because of its towering mountains and large lakes. Some short hikes and drives include Avalanche Lake, Lake McDonald, Going-to-the-Sun Road, Many Glacier, and Hidden Lake Overlook. Longer hikes include The Garden Wall, Cracker Lake, and Blackfoot Glacier. Many people will stay at Kalispell since there are more lodging options.
